Altadena Main Library Celebrates 55th Anniversary Sunday With a Performance from INCA

To celebrate Altadena Library’s 55th anniversary and thank the community, the Altadena Library District will be hosting crafts, outdoor games, a Fiesta Fantastic balloon artist, and a live performance from INCA, The Peruvian Ensemble, on Sunday, Aug. 28, starting at 11 a.m. at the Main Library at 600 E Mariposa Street. 

Free ice cream will be provided, and food from Tacos Don Pillo will be available for purchase. 

The event includes a special presentation at 12 p.m. INCA will be performing at 1 p.m. 

INCA, The Peruvian Ensemble, offers a wonderful and colorful array of music and dances from Peru and the Andean region. Their performance includes music and dances from native Incas (Andean style), from the Hispanic communities of the coastal areas (Criollo style) and from Black people from the villages south of Lima (Afro-Peruvian style). The instrumentation, unique to these areas, woodwinds, strings, percussion and vocals are all featured during the show. 

Altadena Library District Director Nikki Winslow will be on-site to deliver a closing statement before 2 p.m. 

The celebration is open to the public and is free to attend.
