Altadena Music Theatre performs “Little Shop of Horrors” at 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11, on the temporary outdoor stage at Mountain View Mausoleum, 2300 N. Marengo Ave. in Altadena.
The production runs Thursday through Sunday at 8 p.m. and closes Sept. 13, ending a season the company opened in August with “Grease.” The company says the Eaton Fire displaced it from the Charles Farnsworth Amphitheater, and that it returned for 2026 with custom-built staging and seating at Mountain View.
The production contains strobe lighting effects, theatrical haze, simulated gunfire and depictions of violence.
The company says there is street parking around the park perimeter and through the neighborhood, and that parking on Marengo Avenue is permitted for the length of a performance. It asks audiences to be courteous to neighbors.
Audiences may bring a picnic or dinner to eat in the park or at their seats before or during the show. The company does not permit attendees to bring alcohol, and sells beer and wine to those 21 and older. A concessions table carries snacks, candy and non-alcoholic drinks. The company says it tries to partner with local restaurants to sell food before performances but does not always have a vendor.
Only service animals are allowed inside the theater. The company welcomes attendees of any age and asks that everyone in a party be able to sit quietly through the performance.
The show is outdoors. The company’s ticket and refund policy for weather cancellations is at https://www.altadenamusictheatre.com/ticket-policy.
Sarah Azcarate, the company’s founder and producing artistic director, directs. Oliver Azcarate produces, with music direction by Chris Wade and choreography by Noel Bajandas. Michael Mullen designed the costumes and Andrew Hull the set.
Single tickets start at $40, and the company sells them at https://www.altadenamusictheatre.com. The musical carries book and lyrics by Howard Ashman and music by Alan Menken, and follows Seymour Krelborn, a florist’s assistant whose life changes after a strange discovery. It is presented by special arrangement with Music Theatre International.
