The Altadena Sheriff’s Station is set to launch its first annual Pizza with a Deputy event, aiming to foster stronger ties between law enforcement and local residents. The gathering, scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 18, will take place at Pizza of Venice in Altadena from noon to 8 p.m.
The station announced the event on their Facebook page: “SAVE THE DATE 🙂 Forward to a friend. We look forward to our collab with @pizzaofvenice as we host our 1st Annual Pizza with a Deputy Event on Weds, Sept 18 from 12-8pm. Bring your family, parents, kiddos. We look forward to grabbing a slice together!”
The initiative comes as part of a broader community engagement effort by the Altadena Sheriff’s Station. In addition to the pizza event, the station is organizing a blood drive on Monday, Sept. 9, at the Altadena Community Center in partnership with the American Red Cross, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Participants are encouraged to sign up on the American Red Cross website using the code ALTADENA.Â
Furthermore, a Conversation with the Station event is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 26, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Mountain View Mausoleum.
This gathering on Wednesday will provide an opportunity for community members to interact with deputies and command staff serving unincorporated Altadena and Pasadena. The Altadena Sheriff’s Station serves various areas including Altadena, Angeles National Forest Mount Wilson Area (Eaton Canyon), Chaney Trail, Kinneloa Mesa, La Vina, Northeast Pasadena, and Pasadena Glen.
Heading the Altadena Station is Captain Jabari Williams, who was recently promoted. He is a 21-year veteran of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. His last assignment as a lieutenant was at Carson Station.
