Altadena’s Farnsworth Park to Host 27th Season of Free Summer Concerts

Diverse lineup to feature various musical genres from July through September

The Rotary Club of Altadena, in partnership with Los Angeles County Parks and Recreation, has finalized the lineup for the 27th season of free summer concerts at the outdoor amphitheater in Farnsworth Park, located at 568 E. Mt. Curve Ave. in Altadena.

The concert series, a long-running tradition in the community, will take place on Saturday evenings at 7 p.m. from July through September. This year’s lineup features a diverse array of musical acts, including rock, swing, jazz, Beatles tribute, Latin, bluegrass, reggae, and hip hop.

The season kicks off on July 6th with Phat Cat Swinger, followed by Britain’s Finest, a Beatles tribute band, on July 13th. The Eagles Ronstadt Experience takes the stage on July 20th, and the Sangre Nueva Band brings Cuban and Latin music on July 27th.

August performances include The Miskey Mountain Boys with their bluegrass show on the 3rd, Upstream, a popular steel drum reggae and soca band, on the 10th, and Past Action Heroes with their high-energy rock, pop, and R&B performance on the 17th. Ghost in the Machine will present the music of Sting and the Police on August 24th.

The series concludes with a special event on September 7th, featuring Culture Shock LA’s Hip Hop “Battle of the DJs.”

  • This year’s season kicks off on July 6th featuring Phat Cat Swinger and their blend of rock, swing, and jazz infused with a modern sensibility.
  • The July 13th concert will be Britain’s Finest, a Beatles tribute band with their incredible re-creation of the songs everyone has come to love.
  • On July 20th enjoy the Eagles Ronstadt Experience featuring the sounds of two loved iconic and popular artists.
  • July 27th Enjoy Cuban music and other Latin styles with the Sangre Nueva Band.
  • On August 3rd, The Miskey Mountain Boys will present their incredible Bluegrass show.
  • On August 10th Upstream returns to our stage once again as everyone’s favorite Steel Drum Reggae and Soca Band. As it is every year this concert will be a jammed packed audience!
  • On August 17th, Past Action Heroes returns with their high energy show featuring rock anthems, pop classics, and funky R&B.
  • On August 24th, Ghost in the Machine will present the music of Sting and the Police.
  • Finally, on September 7th Culture Shock LA will provide a SPECIAL EVENT with a Hip Hop “Battle of the DJs.”

The concerts are made possible by the generous support of sponsors, including MonteCedro, Pasadena Tournament of Roses Foundation, Pasadena Showcase House for the Arts, Supervisor Kathryn Barger, and the LA County Department of Arts and Culture.

Attendees can enjoy food from El Patron Mexican Food Restaurant, available for purchase at the top of the amphitheater, and beer and wine sold by the Rotary Club of Altadena from the ground floor of the Davies Building throughout the concert series.

The outdoor amphitheater setting in Farnsworth Park, with its comfortable bench seating and shaded areas, creates a relaxing atmosphere for concert-goers to appreciate the live performances. The concert series provides the Altadena community with free, family-friendly entertainment during the summer months.
