An Organist Called “a Firecracker at the Console” Headlines Music at Noon

A half-hour of pipe-organ music offers a midweek pause in the heart of Pasadena. On Wednesday, July 1, organist Peiyao Yu performs in the Music at Noon series at Pasadena Presbyterian Church, with the free concert running from 12:10 p.m. to 12:40 p.m.

Yu arrives with a vivid endorsement: the American Guild of Organists (AGO) has described her as “a firecracker at the console.” An accomplished recitalist, she has built a reputation for technically demanding, energetic programs that show off the breadth of the instrument, from thunderous full-organ passages to delicate solo lines.

Pasadena Presbyterian Church’s Music at Noon series brings free midday concerts to the community on a recurring basis, offering downtown workers, students and neighbors a brief escape into live music without a ticket or a long commitment.
