Yu arrives with a vivid endorsement: the American Guild of Organists (AGO) has described her as “a firecracker at the console.” An accomplished recitalist, she has built a reputation for technically demanding, energetic programs that show off the breadth of the instrument, from thunderous full-organ passages to delicate solo lines.
Pasadena Presbyterian Church’s Music at Noon series brings free midday concerts to the community on a recurring basis, offering downtown workers, students and neighbors a brief escape into live music without a ticket or a long commitment. The church’s sanctuary, home to a large pipe organ, makes a fitting setting for a program built around the king of instruments.
At just half an hour, the concert is easy to fold into a lunch break — a small, free dose of culture in the middle of an ordinary Wednesday. For more information, contact Pasadena Presbyterian Church’s contact at (626) 793-2191 or ppc.net
