Analog hangouts, spend a little time offline.

Unplug and reconnect with your creativity at Remainders Creative Reuse’s Analog Hangout with Typewriters Anonymous, a relaxed, guided session built around classic typewriters and slow, intentional writing.

Remainders Creative Reuse, a 501(c)(3) arts and crafts reuse store and creative space, hosts the meetup in its upstairs studio at 787 East Washington Blvd., Suite 101, in Pasadena.

The organization focuses on creative reuse and sustainability, diverting thousands of pounds of usable materials from landfills each month while offering low-cost classes for all ages.

During the Analog Hangout, participants are invited to focus on process over product and reflection over perfection.

They can tap into the lost arts of letter writing and poetry using classic typewriters, each keystroke a rhythm of expression.

Whether you are finishing a letter you have been meaning to send or adding a line to a community poem, the session spotlights creating for the sake of creating and experiencing connection through shared moments.

All materials are included.

The event is facilitated by Typewriters Anonymous, founded by Phillip and Elisabeth Nails.

Phillip T. Nails, a performance poet and founding director of Typewriters Anonymous, holds a certificate in Social Emotional Arts & Healing Facilitation from UCLA’s Arts & Healing Initiative.

Elisabeth Nails, MSW, PPSC, is a program specialist at the Los Angeles County Department of Arts and Culture, where she manages Creative Wellbeing.

Analog Hangout with Typewriters Anonymous is scheduled for Monday, February 24, at 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Remainders Creative Reuse, 787 East Washington Blvd., Suite 101, in Pasadena; For more info call (626) 529-5014 or visit https://remainderspas.org/shop-classes/p/analog-meet-hlfnb-ngd2t-ba5x3-y2tr3-lasp6-zcd28.
