Pasadena Village is inviting older adults and community members to slow down and make space for reflection at its upcoming Village Connections gathering, “Art Journaling for Healing, Resilience, and Everyday Well-Being.”

The free session is designed as a gentle self-care pause, using simple art-making to support emotional resilience rather than to produce “good” art.

The afternoon begins with complimentary coffee and tea and time to socialize, followed by an engaging program led and moderated by fellow adults 50 and older. Participants are encouraged to experiment with images, colors and words in a private visual journal as a way to explore their inner lives and experiences. No previous art experience is needed; the emphasis is on accessibility, grounding and support.

Together, attendees will honor “the journeys we are on,” making room for complexity, re-charging and hope. The event is part of Pasadena Village’s weekly Village Connections series at Washington Park Community House, which centers aging-in-place older adults while remaining open to the broader community. This gathering is presented in collaboration with Project Hope.

Village Connections: Art Journaling for Healing, Resilience, and Everyday Well-Being will run on Thursday, Feb. 26, at 2 to 3:30 p.m. at Washington Park Community House, 700 E. Washington Blvd., Pasadena, CA 91104. For more information, visit https://www.pasadenavillage.org/events/4342-village-connections:-art-journaling.
