The Pasadena Public Library’s ATLAS program returns to Santa Catalina Branch on Thursday, January 29, offering free drop-in crafts and activities for elementary students in grades K–5.

According to library staff, the program’s mission is straightforward: “to get the kids into the library and having fun,” with the added goal to “help them learn a little about whatever the chosen topic is.” Sessions typically draw eight to 12 children and feature theme-based activities, games, crafts, and occasionally STEM programming such as BrushBots and ArtBots. Library staff have “received positive feedback from kids and parents alike throughout the years.”

The Santa Catalina Branch, established in 1913, houses the Pasadena Public Library system’s Armenian language collection and serves both English and Armenian-speaking patrons. The branch has maintained an ongoing partnership with Longfellow School since 1918 through the School Library Co-Op and offers programs for local preschools.

The library is open Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. For accessibility information or special requests, attendees should contact the library at least 72 hours in advance.

ATLAS: At The Library After School will run on Thursday, Jan. 29, from 2:30-3:30 p.m. Santa Catalina Branch Library, 999 E. Washington Blvd., Pasadena. For more information, call (626) 744-7272 or visit https://www.cityofpasadena.net/library/?trumbaEmbed=view%3Devent%26eventid%3D194088452.
