Author Barry Lyga will discuss and sign copies of his new novel, “Every Hunter Is Hunted,” at 7 p.m. Thursday at Vroman’s Bookstore, 695 E. Colorado Blvd.

The book, published June 23 by Crooked Lane Books, follows Jasper Dent, the central character of Lyga’s “I Hunt Killers” trilogy, according to the publisher. Dent — the son of two serial killers and, in the earlier books, a teen prodigy at hunting such killers — is drawn back into criminal investigation to help the FBI identify a killer targeting brides on their wedding nights, according to the publisher’s description of the novel.

In the story, Dent’s father is in prison and his mother is in a coma, the results of a final confrontation with Dent that occurred years earlier in the timeline of the series, the publisher’s description states. Dent has since become wealthy from a bestselling memoir about his parents, according to the same description.

Lyga is the author of more than 25 books for teens and adults, including the “I Hunt Killers” trilogy, which reached the New York Times bestseller list, and “Thanos: Titan Consumed,” a novel centered on the Marvel Comics villain, according to his publisher biography. He won the Kentucky Bluegrass Award for “I Hunt Killers” and was named a Kentucky colonel by then-Gov. Steven Beshear in 2015, the biography states. Lyga holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Yale University and worked in the comic book industry before writing full time.

A book purchase from Vroman’s “is greatly appreciated and makes events like this possible,” according to the store’s listing for the event. The store can be reached at (626) 449-5320.

Tonight’s appearance is part of Vroman’s regular schedule of author signings and discussions at its Colorado Boulevard location.
