Romance author Moni Boyce and her twin sister Desarie Green will be interviewed virtually by Beyond the Book interviewer Julie Chan Lin at the USC Trojan Affiliates Year End Celebration on Thursday, May 6, 2021. Their topics will focus on their diverse creative and professional lives. The meeting will begin with a time to socialize with the members virtually at 6:30 p.m., followed by the program at 7:00 p.m., and Installation of the 2021-2022 Board.
Moni Boyce is a writer, filmmaker, poet, and USA Today Bestselling author of contemporary and paranormal romances. She has spent the last fifteen years working in the film industry and now creates characters of her own and brings them to life on the page. Moni has ghostwritten romance novellas and novels for over a year and put some of her own creations out in the world. She considers herself a bookworm, film buff, foodie, music lover, and an avid world traveler having visited over thirty-three countries (pre-Covid). She lives a bit of a nomadic life but considers Los Angeles home. Thus, the subject of her first travel book is Greater Than a Tourist-Los Angeles, California: 50 Travel Tips From a Local. She can be followed on Amazon, Goodreads, BookBub, Book+Main and TikTok. She will also be creating original, exclusive content on Radishfiction and is a Pan member of RWA and Vice President for the VRW chapter and a member of CIMRWA chapter.
Desarie Green, Moni’s twin sister, is the Senior Manager, Risk, Compliance & Privacy in Information Services at Hologic, Inc., a global women’s health company. As the Senior Manager, Risk, Compliance & Privacy, Ms. Green oversees risk management, compliance to the cybersecurity framework, and the privacy program at Hologic. She has obtained several certifications pertaining to cybersecurity, privacy, and ethics. Prior to her role with Hologic, Inc., Ms. Green was the Compliance & Privacy Manager at edX in Cambridge, MA., a global EdTech leader in online learning platforms. She has also worked in many other industries, such as aerospace, electronics manufacturing, telecommunications, and film. Ms. Green received her JD from Western State University College of Law and obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of Southern California. She also has a master’s degree from Full Sail University. She has been an active member of the California Bar for over 12 years.
Beyond The Book with Julie is Julie Chan Lin’s passion project. From her experience as a TV news anchor, Julie is a savvy entrepreneur with a keen sense of trends and timing. She has built upon her broadcast experience to become a sought-after lifestyle expert and event planner. She’s a passionate speaker with a unique ability to engage and connect with her audiences. She has created a fascinating series of interviews with authors to promote their books and share their stories. Julie is a thirty year resident of San Marino having graduated from SMHS in 1994 and from the USC Marshall School of Business in 1998. The members of USC Trojan Affiliates invite all interested women to attend this special evening, to hear the Beyond the Book interview, install the 2021-2022 Board of Directors, hear a review of the activities for Trojan Affiliates for 2020-2021, to recognize the new 2020-2021 members, and to make new friends. USC Trojan Affiliates, a women’s organization located in the San Gabriel Valley, supports the University of Southern California and welcomes all interested women to attend its meetings and events. All women parents, alumna, and friends of USC are encouraged to attend. Meetings are usually held the first Thursday evening in October, November, January, March, and May. The first meeting of the 2021-2022 year will take place on Thursday, October 7, 2021.
Trojan Affiliates will honor outgoing two year term President, Robin Phillips of Altadena as she turns over the gavel to incoming President Ann Palmer of Sierra Madre. The Board includes members living throughout the San Gabriel Valley.
