Teens looking to unwind after a long school day can head to Board Game Cafe, a monthly tabletop gaming program designed for ages 11 to 17.
The one‑hour session turns an ordinary weekday afternoon into a low‑pressure space to relax, play and connect with friends.
Once a month after school, participants are invited to try out a variety of tabletop games, from familiar favorites to new discoveries.
Snacks and drinks will be provided, giving teens a chance to settle in, stay energized and enjoy multiple rounds without needing to bring anything from home.
The program is sponsored by the Friends of the Library, whose support helps cover refreshments and game supplies so the event can remain free and open.
Registration is not required, making it easy for teens to drop in spontaneously and join the fun.
Board Game Cafe highlights a welcoming environment where young people can socialize face to face, learn new games and build a sense of community around shared play.
By pairing tabletop games with free snacks in a casual setting, the event offers a simple, screen‑light way to spend an hour after school.
Board Game Cafe (Ages 11–17) will run on Thursday, Feb. 26, from 3 to 4 p.m. Barth Community Room, 1890 Huntington Dr, San Marino. For more information, call (626) 300-0777 or visit https://sanmarinoca.gov/calendar.php?view=day&month=02&day=26&year=2026&id=1041.
