Bolton’s Annual Throw Down Returns to Historic Rose Bowl for Philanthropic Cornhole Tournament

Published on Jun 7, 2023

The annual IMA Foundation Throw Down, a fundraising cornhole tournament sponsored by longtime Pasadena insurance business Bolton & Company, returns to the Rose Bowl stadium in Pasadena on August 2.

Known as the largest and most impactful philanthropic event of the year for the Foundation, the Throw Down brings together Bolton employees, clients, and partners in a friendly competition to raise funds for nonprofit organizations throughout California1.

The Rose Bowl will once again serve as the backdrop for this annual gathering.

Teams participating in the Throw Down compete in a cornhole tournament, with participation fees and sponsorship opportunities serving as the primary sources of funding. The money raised at the event is used to provide grant funding for future IMA Foundation Beacons, as well as smaller donations to select nonprofits..

A highlight of the Throw Down is the IMA Foundation Beacon award ceremony, which recognizes four nonprofit organizations annually for their contributions to the community. Each selected nonprofit is presented with a grant funding check during the ceremony. The IMA Foundation Committee continues to provide additional donations to deserving nonprofits within California throughout the year.
