During the pandemic, perhaps the last place you thought about visiting was a bowling alley. That makes sense. Sharing shoes and lanes and all that.

Now that we can see the end of the pandemic and the loosening of a lot of restrictions on the horizon, it could be time to let some of those fears roll on.

Bowlero Pasadena in Hastings Ranch, which was temporarily closed in March 2020, is currently open with a modified schedule, with drinks and meals, and  a whole lot of strikes to spare. The lanes feature black lights, soft lounge seats, and huge HD video walls playing everything from live sports and music videos to classic family films.

Bowlero, part of a national chain, is, according to their website,  working with professional industrial hygienists to ensure that its centers are clean, sanitized and maintained on a regular basis, with balls and shoes thoroughly sanitized. Guests will also be provided with disinfecting wipes and/or spray, as needed.

And those shoes? Shoes will continue to be sanitized after each use with high-impact disinfectant spray.

Arcade games get touched a lot. According to Bowlero, all the games and Kiosks will be thoroughly cleaned, paying special attention to joysticks, buttons, prize slots and card readers.

Hand sanitizer is also available for all guests to use, checked and replenished hourly.

Speaking of the arcade, it features state-of-the-art video games and old-school classics,  like Jurassic Park Arcade, Mario Kart, World’s Largest Pac-Man,  and more.

Owner Tom Shannon purchased the original Bowlmor Lanes in 1997 with a vision for upscale bowling. His first Manhattan hotspot took off and resulted in lots of new locations throughout the US.

Then in 2013, Bowlmor purchased AMF Bowling Centers, rescuing AMF from bankruptcy and expanding the Bowlmor portfolio to hundreds of locations across America.

Bowlmor AMF launched Bowlero in 2014, as a new brand. It would later acquire Brunswick Corporation’s bowling center business, uniting the two longtime industry rivals, AMF and Brunswick.

Bowlero Corp now has 8,000 employees, over 12,000 lanes, and more than 28 million guests every year. And we’ll be there soon for a closer look.

Bowlero Pasadena is at 3545 E. Foothill Blvd. Pasadena, CA. 626-351-8858. http://www.bowlero.com/location/bowlero-pasadena.
