October turns kids into creature designers, and the brick bin under the bed can only take them so far. Enter Lego Monster Build, two days of Halloween building at Kidspace Children’s Museum in the Arroyo, presented with Legoland California.

First, study the actual Legoland Brick or Treat Street model. Brick or Treat Street is the Carlsbad park’s new interactive trick-or-treat street, where six life-sized Lego Monster homes take their cues from Minifigures such as Wacky Witch, Wolf Guy, and Spider Lady. Then get your hands busy: monsters, goblins, and fantastical creatures, plus the worlds they haunt.

Saturday, Legoland Master Model Builder José De Paz is on the schedule. Sunday belongs to professional builder Allyson Gail, who competed on Season 4 of “Lego Masters.” Appearance times aren’t posted (read: plan to linger).

It’s all included with museum admission and free for members. Bonus points: Kidspace says attending families get a shot at four tickets to Legoland’s Halloween season. Grown-ups need a kid in tow, and kids need a grown-up. Park free in Rose Bowl Lot I, leave the cash at home because the museum is cashless, and arrive early, since indoor galleries can reach capacity.

Grab the kids, pick a creature, and build something with fangs.

480 N. Arroyo Blvd., Pasadena, Saturday-Sunday, Oct. 3-4, during museum hours, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., kidspacemuseum.org, included with admission ($17 adults and children 1 and older, $15 ages 62 and older, free for members and children under 1)
