The Wednesday morning regulars at Vroman’s Bookstore are in for a change of scenery this week — or at least a change of characters.
Mr. Steve and Ms. Marie, who host the bookstore’s weekly storytime for young children, will swap their usual reading list for an Easter-themed session on April 1, four days before Easter Sunday. The 45-minute program, which begins at 11 a.m., will feature books and songs about bunnies, Easter eggs and baby chicks, according to the bookstore’s event listing.
The Easter edition is a seasonal variation of the bookstore’s established weekly children’s storytime. Mr. Steve leads storytime every Wednesday morning at the store’s Colorado Boulevard location, with Ms. Marie handling the musical portion of each session. The format — read-alouds paired with sing-alongs — is aimed at young children and their caregivers.
Vroman’s, at 695 E. Colorado Blvd., has operated in Pasadena since 1894 and hosts more than 400 free community events a year, according to the bookstore’s website. Children’s programming, including weekly storytimes, is a regular part of that schedule.
The Easter Storytime with Mr. Steve and Ms. Marie takes place Wednesday, April 1, from 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at Vroman’s Bookstore, 695 E. Colorado Blvd., Pasadena. The event is free.
