By Popular Demand: Attorney, Ukulele Artist and Pasadena Rotary President Cory Brendel Set to Perform Thursday

Published on May 25, 2022

Back by popular demand, attorney and ukulele artist Cory Brendel – who’s also President of the Pasadena Rotary Club – will  be performing popular songs – from Tin Pan Alley to The Beatles, with an emphasis on standards from the 1930s and 1940s – on Thursday, May 26, 2 p.m., on “Music on the Patio” at the Pasadena Senior Center.

Cory Brendel is a semi-retired estate planning attorney. Last year in May, Brendel took his music on the road, loading his Pasadena Pops wagon with an amplifier and ukulele, and did a sidewalk concert outside Pilgrim Tower North, a senior residence facility on Villa Street in Pasadena. The residents, who’ve had no live entertainment or group activities for some time, couldn’t even eat together because of the COVID-19 restrictions. But they were able to come out on their balconies to hear hits from the 20s, 30s, and 40s.

Since then, Brendel has been back in person at the Pasadena Senior Center a few times playing for PSC members and guests.

Aside from playing the ukulele, Brendel enjoys biking, hiking and reading. He and wife Liza Billington have been living in Pasadena for 30 years.
