Caltech Energy10 Workshop Runs Tuesday, Wednesday

Published on Jun 13, 2022

Caltech is hosting leaders from academia, government, and industry for a free virtual public event on Tuesday and Wednesday, June 14 and 15, to discuss and develop potential roadmaps to cut U.S. global warming gas (GWG) emissions by 50 percent within 10 years.

This Caltech Energy10 (CE10) Workshop is a set of public talks online addressing climate change and scalable solutions, co-sponsored by Stanford University and 4-Good Ventures.

“The energy ecosystem is highly complex, technically and socially, and the path for meeting this goal remains ill-defined,” Caltech said in an announcement. “The solution will require fundamental changes in electricity generation, transportation, and commercial, industrial, and residential energy consumption. Join us for a deep dive into what the foremost leaders in this sphere are thinking.”

The speakers include Jerry Brown, former governor of California; Steven Chu, former U.S. Secretary of Energy; Sally Benson, Deputy Director for Energy at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy; and Arati Prabhakar, former Director of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA).
