Pasadena City College will transform its Mirror Pools into a vibrant celebration of diversity next week, hosting “The Mix at the Mirror Pools: Where Culture Meets Community” on Thursday, September 11.

The campus-wide event, scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., specifically honors PCC’s dual designation as both a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI) and a Minority-Serving Institution (MSI), celebrating what organizers call “the richness of our diverse student body.”

Students can expect an afternoon featuring activities that may include music, free food and refreshments, and opportunities on the lawn.

The event will also potentially include a mini resource fair designed to connect students with campus services and opportunities.

The Mix aims to build community connections while highlighting equity and celebrating inclusion across the campus.

The event targets students looking to relax between classes, meet new people, or get involved with student activities.

The celebration takes place at the Mirror Pools, a central gathering space on PCC’s campus in Pasadena, from late morning through early afternoon to accommodate students’ varying class schedules.

“The Mix at the Mirror Pools: Where Culture Meets Community” will run on Thursday, Sept. 11 at 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Mirror Pools, 1570 E Colorado Blvd., Pasadena. For more call (626) 585-7123 or visit https://pasadena.edu/calendars/event.php?eventid=19727my_key_0. Tickets: Free.
