In celebration of National Native American Heritage Month, the Pasadena Public Library is holding a virtual Art a la Carte Class on Tuesday, November 9, 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. where adults ages 18 and above can learn drawing, watercolor and collage techniques from Artist Lorrie Shriner.
National Native American Heritage Month is a time to recognize the important contributions of Native people and celebrate their rich and diverse cultures, traditions and histories.
Sponsored by The Friends of the Pasadena Public Library, the Art a la Carte class will feature works by Sonja Holy Eagle, an Oglala Lakota artist from Eagle Butte, South Dakota, who was trained by her grandmother in painting buffalo hides to record the stories of the people; and Pitseolak Ashoona, an Inuk Canadian artist who is recognized as one of the first Inuit artists to create autobiographical works.
Art a la Carte, a free online event, happens every Tuesday. Beginners are most welcome.
