Award-winning Celtic vocalist Amelia Hogan is bringing her band, The Flight Crew, to Knox Presbyterian Church on January 10 for an evening of traditional music. Hogan specializes in Sean-Nós, the Irish “old style” singing tradition, and plays bodhran and a 22-string Welsh lap harp. She has toured internationally to global acclaim.

Her recent album “Burnished” was released April 1. Her 2022 album “Taking Flight” made the top 10 of the Folk Alliance International chart in its release month.

The Flight Crew includes Christa Burch on harmony vocals and bodhran, who won Newcomer of the Year from LiveIreland.com in 2010. Jimmy Murphy contributes harmony vocals, guitar and mandolin, bringing over two decades of experience in California’s traditional Irish music scene. Skyler Blakeslee rounds out the crew with harmony vocals, flute, whistles, harmonica and small pipes.

The Pasadena Folk Music Society, founded in 1983, has presented performers over more than 40 years.
