Cat Ce moved from China to the United States to pursue a career in entertainment, and over the past few years she has built a 250,000-strong fan base around viral TikTok videos, sold-out headlining nights at Jimmy Kimmel’s Comedy Club in Las Vegas, and an hour-long Comedy Dynamics special, “Perfect Chinglish,” now streaming on Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, and YouTube. On Saturday night, she returns to the Ice House Comedy Club in Pasadena for what she has
described in social media posts as a “very special show.”

Cat Ce, born Catherine Chen, has appeared in the FX series “Snowfall” and the feature film “Space Jam: A New Legacy,” and is featured as a social media influencer in the video game NBA 2K24. Beyond comedy stages, she hosts the podcast “Cat Jam in the Car,” recorded inside her custom baby blue Porsche Taycan, where she interviews comedians, actors, and influencers. The Pasadena performance is part of a touring schedule that has taken her to comedy clubs across the country, including the Comedy Store, Helium Comedy in Portland, and Cap City Comedy in Austin.

The Ice House, opened in 1960, is one of the longest-running comedy rooms in the country and was renovated and reopened in 2023 after a $4 million overhaul under owner Johnny Buss. Past performers include Bob Newhart, George Carlin, Robin Williams, David Letterman, Jim Carrey, Jay Leno, Jerry Seinfeld, Steve Martin, and Ellen DeGeneres.

Cat Ce live at the Ice House Comedy Club will run on Saturday, May 16 at 9 p.m. Ice House Comedy Club, 24 N. Mentor Avenue, Pasadena. For more information, call (626) 414-2386 or visit icehousecomedy.com. Tickets available online.
