The 14th Los Angeles County Women’s Leadership Conference takes place at the Pasadena Convention Center on Thursday, Sept. 10, with registration opening at 7 a.m. and the program running from 8:30 a.m. to 4:40 p.m., according to the conference’s frequently asked questions page.
The conference is open to the public and general admission costs $175. A reserved table for 10 costs $2,250. Organizers said in guidance last updated Sept. 3 that tickets remained available through Eventbrite. There is no livestream and no virtual option, and the sessions will not be recorded.
The day is split between two buildings. Sessions run in the Ballroom and on the Conference Center Lower Level, and organizers have told attendees they will walk outdoors between the two for breakout sessions. In the same Sept. 3 guidance, organizers advised comfortable shoes, layers, sunscreen and a reusable water bottle, and put Thursday at about 87 to 90 degrees.
The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory four days later, on Sept. 7. It covers the Los Angeles County San Gabriel Valley, which includes Pasadena, until 8 p.m. Thursday and warns of temperatures between 85 and 105, and of readings 10 to 15 degrees above normal.
Three keynote speakers are scheduled. Gina Rollo White founded Mindful Junkie and is described by organizers as an expert in first responder and military stress trauma. Shereen Thor founded Revolutionary Leader Training and Coaching. Aradhna Tripati is a climate scientist and a professor at the University of California, Los Angeles Institute of the Environment and Sustainability. Organizers have named eight breakout speakers.
The theme is “Innovate, Influence, Inspire.” Los Angeles County Public Works powers the conference, according to the conference website, and Blue Shield of California and the CAPE Benefit Trust are listed as its diamond-level sponsors. Visit Pasadena is among the in-kind sponsors.
Parking is not included. Organizers said the convention center’s own structure charges an $18 to $22 daily maximum and pointed to nearby garages at a $12 daily maximum, while encouraging carpooling, rideshare and public transit. Organizers noted that parking prices are subject to change.
General admission seating is unassigned and first come, first served, and it is not held between the morning and afternoon sessions. Reserved tables of 10 are the only way to hold a seat. A continental breakfast, a plated lunch and afternoon refreshments are provided, with vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options.
