Craving a Change of Pace? Don’t Overlook One Colorado

Summer will become fall, but there is still much in store at the shopping and dining center hot spot

Though August is rapidly becoming September, you can still rock summer nights with One Colorado during the Summer Concert Series in the courtyard every Friday and Saturday night through the end of the month.  Reservations at one of the courtyard restaurants, Sushi Roku, Sage Vegan Bistro & Brewery, or Il Fornaio, offer a perfect seat for the action

August 27will feature DJ Lani Love , while DJ ShanLynn  takes over on August 28. Both DJ shows are from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. The shows are free.

Perhaps dinner and a movie are what you’ve been missing and craving? Reserve a romantic table at one of the aforementioned courtyard restaurants, Sushi Roku, Sage Vegan Bistro & Brewery, or Il Fornaio have your date night under the stars as you watch your favorite films.

They will happen every Friday night in September beginning at 8:30 p.m.

September 3 is  “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off,” while September 10 features “The High Note.” “Tenet” is slated for September 17, and “Yesterday” will play on September 24.

And wherever you choose to dine at One Colorado, the movie is free.

You’ll find fun and games at One Colorado,but you’ll also find serious, during their upcoming Hunger Action Month Food Drive

Donation bins to collect nonperishable food items will be placed in the courtyard & inside participating retailers, Twigzz, M.Andonia, Patagonia, Anthropologie, iPic, 21 Choices, J.Crew and Sushi Roku. All donations at the end of the month will benefit LA Food Bank and Pasadena’s own  Friends In Deed. Recommended donations include rice, beans, canned food, quinoa, lentils, coffee and other nonperishable items. The drive runs from September 1 through September 30

As Rishika Mahtani, Regional Marketing Manager for ShopCore Properties, owners of One Colorado, explained, “This year, to shed light on Hunger Action Month, we are highlighting the concept of transparency. Transparency as it relates to childhood hunger, food insecurities within our communities and being transparent about our actions.

“At ShopCore and One Colorado,” she continued,  “we are committed to playing our role in supporting our communities and battling this very serious issue in partnership with our corporate nonprofit CoreGiving and local partners LA Food Bank and Friends in Deed.”

 As part of September’s Hunger Action Month, One Colorado is also hosting “A Magical Night to Fight Hunger” event on  Saturday, September 18, from 8 to 9:30 p.m., with proceeds benefiting the Los Angeles Food Bank and Friends In Deed, in partnership with CoreGiving.

The evening includes a three-act magic show by magician Naathan Phan with dinner by Sage Vegan, Il Fornaio or Sushi Roku.

And, of course, as August begets September, September begets October and that means Halloween. One Colorado will hold its annual pumpkin decorating event  October 23, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., complete with glitter glue, pipe cleaners and markers to create one’s  own spooky pumpkin.

The Buster Balloon Halloween Spook’tacular will take place October 26 at 4:30 p.m. Buster Balloon will dazzle young and old with his creepy comedy and spooky monstrous balloon creations that will have everyone screeching with delight.

The Bob Baker Halloween Spook’tacular arrives on October 28 at 4:30 p.m., for a Halloween Hootenanny. Bring your own straw.

Finally, on Halloween night, October 31, comes Treat & Trail, Pics & A Flick! – October 31, at  5 p.m, with a movie at 7 p.m. One Colorado will present Halloween trick-or-treating, and a screening of “Hocus Pocus.” The event is free.
