Deputy District Attorney Will Describe Prosecuting Human Trafficking in Los Angeles County at Service Club Meet

This week’s open-to-the-public Rotary Club of Pasadena meeting will feature Emily Chan, Deputy District Attorney for Los Angeles Country as guest speaker on Wednesday, May 11, starting at 12 noon. She will be talking about “Prosecuting Human Trafficking in Los Angeles County.”

The program will be in person at the University Club of Pasadena and will be live streamed on Zoom. It is open to the public.

Emily Chai has been a Deputy District Attorney with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office since January 2012. Currently, she is assigned to the Sex Crimes Division, Human Sex Trafficking Section, where she prosecutes street level human sex trafficking, pimping, and pandering cases occurring throughout Los Angeles County.

Prior to being assigned to the Human Sex Trafficking Section, Chai was assigned to the Victim Impact Program out of the Torrance Branch office, where she prosecuted various crimes involving vulnerable victims, including victims of sexual abuse, domestic violence, and child and elder abuse.

Deputy District Attorney Chai is a Los Angeles native and is largely inspired by the diverse community that she represents.
