Dinosaurs to Roam the Rose Bowl at ‘Jurassic Quest Drive-Thru Experience’

STAFF REPORT
Published on Nov 5, 2020

Some of the fiercest and largest creatures to ever roam the planet will stomp on the grounds of the Rose Bowl when the Jurassic Quest Drive-Thru Experience takes over the stadium for two weekends in January, organizers said.

Billed as “North America’s largest dinosaur experience,” the event will be held Wednesdays through Sundays between Jan. 15 and Jan. 31, Rose Bowl officials said in a written statement.

The display will follow sold-out weekends in New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Dallas, San Antonio, Oklahoma City, Atlanta, Detroit, and Atlanta, according to the Rose Bowl.

“The nation’s best touring dinosaur exhibit will transform the outdoor parking area of the Rose Bowl into an interactive drive-thru experience, featuring over 70 moving and life-like dinosaurs, as well as our 50 foot-long Megalodon!” the statement said. “Although the drive-thru experience means visitors will stay safe inside their vehicle, you’ll still need to avoid the swinging tail of our 80 foot-long Spinosaurus!”

Each exhibit included input from paleontologists to recreate the dinosaurs in as realistic a fashion as possible.

“In addition to the life-like dinosaur exhibits, there will be opportunities to visit with our one-of-a-kind baby dinosaurs and our team of dino trainers as well as the chance to capture the moment with a safari-style photo of your vehicle and family transported back in time via a Jurassic setting complete with a dinosaur backdrop,” according to the statement. One photo per family is included with admission.

The cost of admission is $49 per vehicle with up to eight people, organizers said.

Guests will be invited to listen to an audio tour as they spend about an hour perusing the long-extinct creatures of eons past.

“Guests must travel through the drive-thru in the comfort of their own vehicle — no rentals or golf carts will be provided and walkers are not allowed,” the statement said. “To ensure participant safety, all guests must ride inside their vehicles.”

Riders in truck buds or trailers are not permitted, organizers said.

Those with oversized vehicles and vehicles with nine or more occupants are urged to contact event customer service at customerservice@jurassicquest.com.
