The Dr. Susan Love Foundation for Breast Cancer Research is hosting its first virtual Afternoon Tea on Sunday, Oct. 18, to stream live from The Langham Huntington Hotel in Pasadena. The event intends to help contribute to National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is all of October.

The event also celebrates the Foundation’s ongoing commitment to end breast cancer and improve the lives of people impacted by it through education and advocacy. The program will be by Dr. Susan Love, the Foundation’s Founder and Chief Visionary Officer, with a selection of celebrity guests and tea sommeliers.

Dr. Love and others on the panel will engage the public with breast cancer research, underscore the need for a diverse patient population, and build enthusiasm for participation in research. They will discuss the past, present, and future of breast cancer and how their collective unique experiences have informed the Foundation’s commitment to addressing the need for diversity in research.

Musician and breast cancer survivor Melissa Ethridge will also be featured during the event, where she will be honored with the Global Philanthropy Award for her passionate efforts to inspire and educate the public about the collateral damage of breast cancer.

Natalie Hagan will be honored as Philanthropist of the Year for her longtime support of the Foundation’s mission to end breast cancer. Hagan served on the Foundation Board of Directors for five years and was instrumental in supporting fundraising efforts. She is driven to end this disease by her family’s personal experience with breast cancer. Additional guests will be announced.

Afternoon Tea has been a trademark of the Langham brand, where the famed tradition was born over 140 years ago at the Langham London.

Tickets for the virtual event are $100 each. This will be a view-only event, and ticketed guests will not be on video or audio. Each ticket includes an exclusive tea gift box, sponsored by The Langham Huntington Pasadena, which features a selection of sweet treats and specialty teas.

A Virtual Ticket with Veuve Clicquot Champagne is $150, limited to Los Angeles residents only.

Guests will also be entered in the Breast Cancer Awareness Month raffle to win a one-night stay at The Langham Huntington.

Virtual Afternoon Tea begins at 2 p.m.
