The city’s Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department and Rose Bowl Stadium have restored the annual spring event to full form: three free egg hunts on the stadium field, a spring festival with games and inflatable attractions, and the return of the ticketed Bunny Brunch inside the Terry Donahue Pavilion. The Egg Bowl runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. It arrives with the community 15 months into its recovery from the Eaton Fire, a context that gives a familiar free event a different kind of weight, according to a city press release announcing the event.
Egg hunts begin at 11 a.m., noon, and 1 p.m. for children up to age 12. The field will be divided into three zones — ages 0 to 2, ages 3 to 5, and all ages — so that toddlers are not competing with fifth-graders for the same eggs, the city said. Families may register for one hunt time only, and all three sessions feature the same number of eggs, according to the city. Parents are not permitted in the hunt area except in the 0-to-2 zone, where they may carry their child through. Baskets are recommended. Strollers are welcome in the festival area but not on the field.
Every person entering the stadium — adults included — must have a free ticket. Registration is available at CityOfPasadena.net/Reserve. Pasadena residents had first access beginning March 9; non-residents could register starting March 23. Tickets are limited, and the city has said families should register all group members in advance.
The Bunny Brunch, which had been absent since the 2024 event was rained out, returns with two ticketed packages — a Loge experience and a Club option — both held in the Terry Donahue Pavilion on Level D. Doors open at 8:30 a.m. The VIP Egg Hunt on the stadium field begins at 10 a.m. Both packages include breakfast, a photo opportunity with the Easter Bunny, and field access for the hunt. Tickets are sold through Eventbrite and coordinated by Rose Bowl Stadium. All children must be accompanied by a ticket-holding adult.
After the hunts, the spring festival offers free games, arts and crafts, inflatable attractions, and food for purchase. Outside food is not permitted inside the stadium. The Rose Bowl’s clear bag policy will be enforced, with a bag check at entry through Gate A.
The city has arranged free Pasadena Transit Route 51 service throughout the day, running every 22 minutes between 7:30 a.m. and 8 p.m. and every 11 minutes during peak hours between 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. The route connects Old Pasadena and the Memorial Park A Line Station along Fair Oaks Avenue to the Rose Bowl, about a five-minute walk from the nearest bus stop. Free parking is available in Lot F, with Lot K also available, according to Pasadena Now. The route map and schedule are available at PasadenaTransit.net.
The Egg Bowl takes place Saturday, April 4, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Rose Bowl Stadium, 1001 Rose Bowl Drive, Pasadena, CA 91103. Admission is free but tickets are required and limited; register at CityOfPasadena.net/Reserve. The Bunny Brunch is separately ticketed through Eventbrite. In case of moderate-to-heavy rain, the event will be cancelled; check CityOfPasadena.net or call the City Service Center at (626) 744-7311 for updates. Additional sponsors include Pasadena Transit, Pasadena Media, Pasadena Management Association, and the Sri Lanka Foundation. Event details are drawn from a City of Pasadena press release issued February 25, 2026.
The city and Rose Bowl Stadium have co-hosted the Egg Bowl since 2015, according to Local News Pasadena. Two years of disruption did not end the tradition. On April 4, the eggs will be back on the field.
