The Woman’s Club of South Pasadena invites women of all ages to a Perimenopause and Menopause Education Program on Thursday, Oct. 23 at 6:30 p.m. at the Clubhouse in South Pasadena.

The free event opens with a wine and cheese reception before a physician panel examines the latest medical guidance and non-medical approaches for midlife health.

A urologist in Pasadena, Ashley G. Winter, fellowship-trained in sexual medicine, will explain why hormone therapy is essential for comprehensive menopause management. “We are not offering patients comprehensive management unless we consider hormone therapies,” she says, highlighting the importance of vaginal hormone discussions in routine care.

OB-GYN Tara Nowakhtar, a Menopause Society-certified practitioner, brings 10 years of menopause-care experience. “I’m passionate about helping women through the challenges that life throws at them when perimenopause and menopause rear their heads,” she notes, exploring strategies to dispel myths and improve patient-provider communication.

Attendees will learn about perimenopause and menopause symptoms, genitourinary syndrome of menopause, and evidence-based therapies. The session concludes with audience questions, equipping women to navigate midlife transitions confidently.
