Human perception is more than the sum of sensory input; it’s a complex response woven from sensory integration, life experiences, and social interactions in real time. Wired for Wonder invites participants of all ages to become both artist and observer, scientist and subject, unlocking the building blocks of meaning-making and perception while navigating a complex physical structure that harnesses color, light, movement, texture, vibration, and smell to interrogate and shift sensory experience. Artists understand that art is an engagement with the whole self, a way to embody expressions, moments and stories, and a mechanism to transcend “reality” to embrace the sublime and the divine. Wired for Wonder is about uncovering the wonder of you, a reminder that play and discovery are core concepts of both joy and knowing. Wired for Wonder is presented at Kidspace Children’s Museum in collaboration with Getty. On view February 1 to August 1, 2025.
