This season, Pasadena Conservatory of Music (PCM) presents three Musical Interludes concerts inspired by scenes and sounds from the natural world: Water, Night, and Forest. This concert opens with quintessential night music – a pair of nocturnes by John Field and Frédéric Chopin. It also includes Olivier Messiaen’s chilling “Louange à l’Éternité de Jésus” from Quartet from the End of Time and Maurice Ravel’s monumental Gaspard de le nuit. Program: Field "Nocturne No. 1 in E-flat major"; Liszt "Consolation No. 3 in D-flat major"; Chopin "Nocturne in C minor, Op. 48, No. 1"; Price "Scenes in Tin Pan Alley, “Night”"; Schumann "In der Nacht"; Fauré "Après un rêve"; Messiaen "Louange à l’Éternité de Jésus"; Ravel "Gaspard de la nuit".
