Friends In Deed is excited to announce Giving Day 2025, a one-day fundraising event dedicated to assisting the most vulnerable members of the community. Taking place on Tuesday, February 25, FID Giving Day is an opportunity for supporters to come together and make a significant impact through collective generosity. This year, Friends In Deed has set a goal of getting 225 donors on 2/25/25 to support vital programs that provide food, shelter, and resources to individuals and families in need. To encourage participation, The Lawrence A. Appley Foundation has pledged to donate an additional $20,000 to further support the organization’s mission if Friends In Deed reaches their goal. This year’s Giving Day holds even greater importance as the Pasadena community continues to recover from the devastating Eaton Fire. The impact of the fire has highlighted both the fragility and resilience of the region, and Friends In Deed is committed to providing ongoing support during the months and years ahead as families, workers, and individuals navigate challenges. Donations made on Giving Day will directly support Friends In Deed’s essential programs, including: • Food Pantry – Providing weekly groceries to approx. 600 families and individuals facing food insecurity. • Bad Weather Shelter – Offering emergency wintertime shelter for those experiencing homelessness on cold and rainy nights. • The Women’s Room – A safe daytime shelter and refuge for women needing food, laundry, showers, and community. • Eviction Prevention and Rental Assistance – Helping families stay in their homes and avoid the cycle of homelessness. • Street Outreach and Housing – Offering hope and resources to unhoused individuals on their journey toward stability. Friends In Deed invites the Pasadena community and beyond to participate in Giving Day 2025 and help spread the word.
