When slick salesman Walter Neff (Fred MacMurray) walks into the swank home of dissatisfied housewife Phyllis Dietrichson (Barbara Stanwyck), he intends to sell insurance, but he winds up becoming entangled with her in a far more sinister way. In 1971 Norton Simon married Academy Award–winning actress Jennifer Jones. When the Norton Simon Museum opened a few years later, some familiar names in Hollywood were appointed to its board of trustees. In honor of the Museum’s 50th anniversary, enjoy a series of films selected from the extraordinary creative output of some of those trustees. Presented on select Friday evenings from May to July.
