Reddy To Care will host the Rise & Heal: A Women’s Wellness Day at Holy Assembly Church of God in Christ, under Bishop Chris Milton, located in Pasadena, CA. The event is designed to serve women of color impacted by the January 2025 Eaton Canyon Fires, offering healing-centered workshops, wellness check-ins, trauma-informed care, and resource support. It is free and open to pre-registered participants. Attendees will be treated to a day of wellness, restoration, and empowerment, along with breakfast, lunch, raffles, and self-care giveaways. Bags of Blessings, a program under Reddy To Care, is a Pasadena-rooted initiative that has distributed over 300 essential care bags since its launch in late 2024. The organization has worked closely with The Flintridge Center, Shepherd’s Door, and other nonprofits to serve unhoused women, formerly incarcerated individuals, and families in need. Founder LaKaysha Redd, a longtime community organizer and trauma-informed facilitator for 2nd Call Pasadena and the Flintridge Center Construction Apprenticeship Program, grew up in the Crenshaw District and has deep ties to both the Pasadena and Altadena communities. This initiative reflects her commitment to long-term healing and support for women recovering from trauma and displacement. There will also be a vision board creation table for Altadena fire survivors to envision their new homes and futures. The goal is for Rise & Heal to become a recurring monthly event to provide long-term emotional wellness and recovery support. To achieve this, additional funding and community partnerships are needed. There is still time to register, donate, or volunteer: https://givebutter.com/RiseANDHeal.
