Amapola Players continues their second season at Parson’s Nose Theater and will present their next performances on Tuesday, June 17 and Wednesday, June 18; curtain is 7:00 p.m. The performance will begin with “MAMI AND ME”, written by Peruvian immigrant and storyteller, Rosa Navarrete. “Tells the story of a grandmother’s love that crosses borders, language, & timelines to help liberate her curious granddaughter from a history of silence”. THE TEXAS OCEAN, by Josephine Nericcio, American Blue Ink finalist and Houston Texas' Sin Muros Festival Selection, will have its' Southern California premiere with a Staged Reading, by The Amapola Players. “Alma Canales returns home to see her father, who has Alzheimer’s, and learns that her mother has fired the home aide helping care for him and is refusing to hire anyone else”. Cast members for the plays are Oscar T. Basulto, Stephanie Hoston, Roberta H. Martínez, Tony Sancho, Liane Schirmer, Emma Valdez, and Carla Valentine . Both plays are directed by Roberta H. Martínez.
