The Armory Center for the Arts is offering a hands-on Family Letterpress Workshop over two days: Saturday and Sunday, August 30-31, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each day.
The workshop will be guided by master craftsperson Denise El-Hoss, who brings more than a decade of expertise to the letterpress studio.
“Armory Teaching Artist Denise El-Hoss has directed our letterpress studio for more than a decade. A master of the letterpress medium, Denise is also quite handy with a needle and thread,” according to the Armory Center for the Arts.
Adults and children will work in pairs to create handmade letterpress posters using the Armory’s collection of vintage printing equipment.
Children must be at least eight years old and must attend both days with the same adult companion.
The program aligns with the center’s mission to “nurture our community and its young people by creating, learning, and presenting art to advance equity and social justice,” as stated by the institution’s Board of Directors.
