Farmers’ Market Returns to Villa Parke, Promising Fresh and Local Produce

Market reopens after holiday hiatus
Published on Jan 6, 2025

After a holiday hiatus, the Pasadena Farmers’ Market at Villa Parke will reopen Tuesday, Jan. 7, offering the community a chance to connect directly with local growers and enjoy the freshest produce available.

Operating on Tuesday mornings from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., the market provides a unique opportunity to purchase fruits, vegetables, and other farm products sourced directly from certified local vendors.

The market, sponsored by Pasadena Farmers’ Market, emphasizes the value of knowing exactly where your food comes from. “Pasadena Farmers’ Market’s certified vendors only sell what they grow—or, to say it another way, they won’t sell you anything that they did not grow. You know where your food came from, and who grew it for you,” organizers explained.

Focus on quality and local sourcing

Located at the intersection of North Garfield Avenue and East Villa Street, the market is just one block north of the 210 Freeway and conveniently situated about halfway between the Fair Oaks Avenue and Lake Avenue off-ramps, approximately five blocks from either. This central location makes it an accessible destination for those seeking nutritious, farm-fresh goods.

Vendors offer a wide array of products, including fruits, vegetables, jams, jellies, fish, and more. However, the market maintains a strict policy of excluding craft vendors to ensure its focus remains on high-quality food and farm products.

“Our certified vendors only sell what they grow,” organizers added. “This commitment means you can be confident in the origin and quality of everything you buy.”

More than a market—A community experience

For many attendees, the market is more than just a place to shop; it’s a community hub where customers can enjoy the experience of buying directly from the farmers who grow their food. “If you have

never been to a Farmers’ Market, you are in for a real treat! You’ll love the experience of buying directly from the farmer that grows the food. What you’ll love even more is the fresh, delicious taste of

locally grown, nutritious fruits, vegetables and farm products,” organizers said.

The market also emphasizes the nutritional benefits of its offerings, providing visitors with a chance to improve their diets while supporting sustainable local agriculture.
