The two-hour event at 6 p.m. on South Lake Avenue represents a growing trend in fertility medicine: educational seminars that double as marketing tools, offering substantial financial incentives to attendees who become patients.
Katherine McDaniel will lead the session, which promises to cover fertility basics, debunk common misconceptions and explain when couples should seek expert help. Light food will be served, and attendees can submit questions confidentially. Those who attend also receive a complimentary future consultation with McDaniel.
The $2,000 IVF discount exceeds the $1,000 promotional credit mentioned on HRC’s general events page, though eligibility requirements remain unclear.
HRC Fertility has hosted these free seminars year-round at various locations since at least 2024. The clinic, which says it has operated since 1988, promotes itself as an industry leader. Its services include intrauterine insemination, egg freezing, preimplantation genetic testing and third-party reproduction options.
Registration requires agreeing to privacy terms authorizing HRC to retain contact information for medical evaluation and marketing communications. The seminar is not accredited continuing medical education or government-sponsored but appears entirely clinic-funded as part of HRC’s patient recruitment strategy.
Space is limited and reservations are required.
Free Fertility 101 Seminar will run on Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2026, at 6-8 p.m. HRC Fertility Pasadena, 55 S. Lake Ave., ninth floor, Pasadena, Calif. For more information, call (866) 472-4483 or visit https://www.havingbabies.com/events/fertility-101-pasadena-2-4-26/.
