The event, sponsored by Pasadena Village and held from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., invites adults 50 and older to share a meal, participate in bingo and raffle drawings, and connect with neighbors. Transportation is provided free of charge through a partnership with Butterfli transportation service.
“We will all come together to reflect and support each other as we approach the holidays,” organizers wrote in the event announcement. The gathering carries added significance as the community looks toward recovery following the Eaton Fire, which devastated the region in January.
The breakfast is being held at The Collaboratory, a facility that opened in October in a historic former JPL Mission Control Center. The space serves as the permanent hub for the Eaton Fire Collaborative, a coalition of more than 200 local nonprofits, community groups and government officials coordinating long-term recovery efforts.
Event partners include Foothill Family, Friends of the Altadena Senior Center, the Pasadena Senior Center and Project HOPE. The Altadena Senior Center, which served over 970 active members before the Eaton Fire destroyed it in January, is among the organizations backing the event.
The Eaton Fire, which ignited on January 7, burned 14,021 acres and destroyed over 9,000 buildings. Nineteen people died in the fire. In its recovery work, Pasadena Village has distributed over $13,000 in gift cards to those who lost homes or were displaced.
The breakfast has limited capacity with 50 spots available. Free registration is required online.
