Final Summer Tour of Pasadena’s Tournament House Set for August 28

Free 90-minute tour offers history, gardens, and Rose Parade traditions

On Thursday, August 28, at 2 p.m., the public will have one last chance this summer to step inside the Tournament House, the Italian Renaissance–style Wrigley Mansion that has served as the Pasadena Tournament of Roses headquarters since 1958.

The complimentary, 90-minute tour guides visitors through the historic home and its 4.5-acre Wrigley Gardens, showcasing more than 1,500 varieties of roses, camellias, and annuals.

Volunteer members of the Tournament of Roses Heritage Committee lead the tours, highlighting “hidden details, little-known facts and endearing trivia” about the association and its iconic parade.

Guests also “learn the history of the house and hear more about the traditions of the Rose Parade and Rose Bowl Game.”

Reservations are required, and each guest must register for a complimentary ticket at least one day in advance.

Children are welcome with an accompanying adult.

Tours are offered rain or shine, and casual attire with comfortable walking shoes is recommended.

Parking is limited. Handicap spaces are available via the driveway at Orange Grove Boulevard or Arbor Street.

Street parking can be found on Arbor Street, Grand Avenue, and Lockhaven Street, though restrictions apply.

There is no parking on Orange Grove Boulevard.

Food and drinks are not permitted during the tour, though picnicking is allowed on the grounds before or after.

Public restrooms are not available.
