Pasadena residents seeking a moment of calm can participate in a free guided meditation session this Saturday at Hill Avenue Branch Library. Mindful Moments: A Guided Meditation Experience runs from 10:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m., with doors opening at 10:15 a.m. The 45-minute session promises to help participants “reduce stress and find balance” with “practical meditation techniques to help you navigate the year with less stress and more intention.”

Pasadena Meditation, a local organization dedicated to “empowering individuals through guided meditations, spiritual healing, and support circles,” is organizing the event. The organization operates from 1331 N. Hudson Avenue and can be reached at (626) 795-2200.

The event represents the latest addition to Hill Avenue Library’s expanding wellness programming. The historic branch, which opened May 6, 1925, recently launched “Thoughtful Thursdays,” a weekly program designed to “provide a space for adults to check in, reflect, relax, and cultivate community.” Similar guided meditation sessions were held at the branch in October.

Hill Avenue Branch Library is located at 55 South Hill Avenue, directly across from Pasadena City College, with free parking available. The library operates Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m..

Those requiring accessibility accommodations should contact the branch at least 72 hours in advance. The Pasadena Public Library system maintains comprehensive accessibility resources, including services for people who are blind, low-vision, deafblind or print-disabled, and specialized programs for individuals with autism, ADHD and sensory sensitivities.

Mindful Moments: A Guided Meditation Experience will run on Saturday, January 17 at 10:30–11:15 a.m. Hill Avenue Branch Library, 55 South Hill Avenue, Pasadena, California. For more information, call (626) 744-7264. Ticket prices: Free.
