First Church of the Nazarene Hosts ‘Blue Christmas’ in Hope of Healing

Join the First Church of the Nazarene on Wednesday, Dec. 16, for a special healing service that is intended to remind everyone they are not alone during these challenging times.

The event is available to watch on live stream and is a great way to remember you’re not alone during this time.

Announcing the virtual event, the First Church of the Nazarene said not everyone “is cheery for the holidays.”

“Everyone is living in a time underscored and seasoned with grief in many forms,” the announcement said. “The looming anxiety of living through a global pandemic, the stress of political unrest, dealing with the death of a loved one, facing life after divorce or separation, coping with job loss, living with cancer or some other disease that puts a question mark over the future, and a number of other human situations make the joy that surrounds the Christmas season difficult and even painful for many people. Join PazNaz for this reflective service, making space to accept where we really are, while holding out hope for healing.”

The event will be live on YouTube, starting at 7 p.m. Wednesday, and on www.paznaz.org/sermons/advent-2020/#bluechristmas.
