First-Ever Coffee Passport for the Holiday Season Debuts in Pasadena

Published on Dec 5, 2024

Pasadena’s vibrant coffee culture, cultivated over the past three decades, is being celebrated this December with the launch of the Pasadena Coffee Passport. Designed as both a guide and discount booklet, the Passport showcases 14 of the city’s finest locally-owned specialty coffee shops. Available for $25 via Instagram at @PasadenaCoffeePassport, it offers coffee enthusiasts exclusive perks at each location, from free drinks and donuts to coffee bean samples and discounts.

“Our city is renowned for its extraordinary specialty coffee scene. People from all over come to Pasadena to experience our unique coffee culture,” said Melissa Spolar, creator of the Pasadena Coffee Passport. “Now, both locals and visitors can embark on a coffee adventure with the Pasadena Coffee Passport.”

The Passport highlights an array of iconic and innovative coffee spots, including:

• Jones Coffee, Pasadena’s first specialty café, established in 1994.
• Copa Vida and Lavender & Honey, both shops started in Pasadena before expanding to other cities.
• Mandarin Coffee Stand, specializing in Chinese specialty coffee.
• Rosebud Coffee, Pasadena’s first social enterprise café.
• Coffee and Plants, a fully plant-based coffee shop.

And many other locally-owned shops.

Whether you are a fan of pour-overs, pastries, or lattes, the Pasadena Coffee Passport is the key to exploring the best of the city’s coffee offerings. At each café, Passport holders can collect stamps featuring the shop’s logo, making it a fun and rewarding keepsake.
