[Updated] As Randy’s Donut’s settles in for, hopefully, a long stay on Lake Avenue (currently offering Lakers and Dodgers donuts!), the word we’ve heard from a very trusty source is that the new opening date for the new Five Guys burger shop is Friday, October 7 at 11 a.m.
And the location? Why, right next door to Randy’s at 230 S. Lake Ave. between Del Mar and Cordova. What could be sweeter?
According to a “west coast district manager,” the chain has been slowly reopening existing locations to implement and check on safety protocols and will soon be opening the new stores, including San Diego and Pasadena.
The chain, which was opened in 1986 by the Murrell family, in Arlington, Virginia, now has 1500 franchise locations in the US, UK, , Canada, Asia, Europe and the Middle East, and another 1500 in development.
“Help Wanted” signs have been spotted at the Lake Avenue location, and when the doors fly open, so will we.
