The Rose Bowl, a stadium that usually echoes with the cheers of football fans, will transform into a global food bazaar this weekend as FoodieLand, a three-day multicultural food festival, sets up shop.
From June 21st to 23rd, over 185 vendors will beckon attendees with the enticing aromas and flavors of Asia, Latin America, the Middle East, and beyond, all within the iconic Pasadena landmark.
Inspired by the bustling open-air night markets of Asia, FoodieLand bills itself as the largest annual outdoor food festival on the West Coast. This isn’t your average stadium fare; FoodieLand promises a culinary journey around the world, with options to tantalize every taste bud.
Pasadena’s own Robin’s Wood Fire BBQ will be there to tempt carnivores with their smoky offerings, while Adelita’s Mexican Catering from Monrovia will bring a taste of south-of-the-border deliciousness. Pizza aficionados can indulge at Angelenos Wood Fired Pizza, and Teddy Baker from Sawtelle will be a haven for those seeking a Japanese twist, offering their popular beef gyu katsu sando.
For those with dietary restrictions, FoodieLand offers a welcome sense of inclusion, with many vendors catering to vegetarian, vegan, kosher, and halal preferences.
To ensure a smooth experience and manage crowd flow, festival organizers require tickets to be purchased online in advance through Eventbrite. Tickets are priced affordably at around $6-$7 per person, with free parking available at the Rose Bowl Stadium for those who choose to drive.
The festival runs from 3 pm to 10 pm on Friday and from 1 pm to 10 pm on Saturday and Sunday. Attendees with disabilities are well-served, with designated ADA parking available.
While some reviews mention the possibility of encountering lines, attendees consistently praise the event’s lively atmosphere, the sheer diversity of food options, and the ample seating that allows them to relax and savor their culinary finds.
