The class is open to adults, and beginners are welcome. Space is limited and registration is required; the library asks participants to sign up in advance by calling the branch directly at (626) 744-7266. There is no charge to attend.

The Lamanda Park Branch is located at 140 South Altadena Drive in Pasadena — in the city’s Lamanda Park neighborhood, which was annexed by Pasadena in 1920. Despite the street name, the branch sits within the city of Pasadena, not the neighboring unincorporated community of Altadena.

According to the library’s Off the Shelf newsletter for July and August 2026, the July 25 session is one of four Saturday classes scheduled over the summer. The series also includes dates on July 11 and on Aug. 8 and Aug. 22, each beginning at 10:30 a.m. The class is listed among the library’s adult “Discovery Classes” and, per the newsletter, is intended for participants ages 18 and older.

In its listing, the library says the class is meant to help participants lose weight, tone up, build cardio strength, improve coordination and self-esteem, and feel happy. That characterization is the library’s own; the newsletter does not attribute it to a named instructor and does not include comment from staff or participants.

The Zumba series is one of several fitness offerings the Pasadena Public Library has scheduled this summer. The same newsletter lists an introduction to Pilates, described as a low-impact, whole-body class, held earlier in July at the Hastings Branch Library. Both fall under the system’s adult Discovery Classes programming.

All Pasadena Public Library programs listed in the newsletter are free and open to the public, the library states, though it notes that its programs are popular and that registration may be required for individual sessions. For the Zumba class, registration is handled by phone rather than through the online calendar.

The Lamanda Park Branch is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. It is one of the library system’s neighborhood branches operating while the system’s Central Library on East Walnut Street remains temporarily closed. The Off the Shelf newsletter is edited by Catherine Hany.

Further program details, including the full summer schedule and other branch offerings, are available in the library’s July/August 2026 Off the Shelf newsletter, published by the City of Pasadena at cityofpasadena.net/library/wp-content/uploads/sites/11/2026-07-Off-the-Shelf-JULY-AUG2026.pdf. Prospective participants are encouraged to register early because space is limited.
