Every Tuesday afternoon at 4 p.m., children ages 6 to 12 gather at Hill Avenue Branch Library to paint, sculpt clay, and explore mixed-media art — all for free.

The program, “Fun with Mixed Media with Armory Center for the Arts,” runs through March 10 at Pasadena’s oldest library building in a partnership between Pasadena Public Library and the nonprofit Armory Center for the Arts.

“Have fun exploring familiar and new art materials,” the program description states. “Discover different ways to paint, draw, and work with clay. Share your ideas while you learn about the world of art!”

The collaboration reflects a longstanding relationship between the two institutions.

The nonprofit’s mission focuses on nurturing community through art to advance equity and social justice. More than 80 percent of its programming serves socioeconomically disadvantaged youth and families, with more than 6,500 annual participants through community programs.

Hill Avenue Branch, located at 55 South Hill Avenue across from PCC, has served the community since 1925.

Space is limited and advance registration is required through the library’s event calendar or by calling (626) 744-7264.

Fun with Mixed Media with Armory Center for the Arts will run on Tuesday Feb 3 at 4 p.m. Hill Avenue Branch Library, 55 South Hill Avenue, Pasadena. For more information, call (626) 744-7264 or visit https://www.cityofpasadena.net/library/calendar/?trumbaEmbed=view%3Devent%26eventid%3D193749287.
