Every Wednesday night, a corner of Colorado Boulevard transforms into an unlikely comedy hub where laughter comes free and the drinks are two-for-one.

The Pasadena Comedy Show at The Mixx, a bar and nightclub at 443 E. Colorado Blvd., has become a weekly fixture in the city’s Playhouse District. The next show is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 11, from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.

“Get ready to have your funny bone tickled by some of the funniest comedians in town,” promises the event description, which touts improv-style performances hosted by comedian Paddy along with rotating guest performers.

The free admission model stands in contrast to typical comedy club economics. Rather than ticket sales, The Mixx appears to bank on bar revenue, advertising “2×1 Drinks All Night Long” alongside the comedy programming. Free parking sweetens the deal.

The Playhouse Village Association describes The Mixx as “a modern Bar & Restaurant featuring live music five days-a-week, from Blues to Jazz, R&B, Motown, Disco, Funk, and Classic Rock.”

The comedy show represents just one piece of The Mixx’s entertainment calendar. In February 2026 alone, the venue is hosting tribute shows, karaoke nights, salsa dancing and a Super Bowl viewing party.

The venue operates under California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control licensing and Pasadena’s Conditional Use Permit system. No public complaints or regulatory actions specific to The Mixx’s comedy shows appeared in available city records as of early February 2026.

Pasadena Comedy Show, Always Free will run on Wednesday, Feb. 11, at 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. The Mixx, 443 E. Colorado Blvd., in Pasadena. For more information, call (626) 500-0017 or visit https://themixxclub.com/eventer/pasadena-comedy-show-always-free/edate/2026-02-11/.
