A free family market with local vendors, children’s activities and live disc jockey sets will fill the One Colorado courtyard in Old Pasadena from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 23.
Cool Fam Fest is presented by One Colorado with Fashion Mamas. The shopping district describes it as a family-friendly day of shopping, music and fun, with a curated market of local vendors, kid-friendly activities, live DJ sets and giveaways. Admission is free and the event is open to all ages.
The courtyard is at 41 Hugus Alley in Old Pasadena. Organizers ask attendees to reserve a spot in advance through the event page at https://www.onecolorado.com/
The courtyard sits at the center of the district, bounded by Colorado Boulevard, Union Street, De Lacey Avenue and Fair Oaks Avenue, and is programmed through the year with film screenings, concerts, art markets and children’s events. Shoppers there find national names — Anthropologie, Sephora, Vuori and Nike among them — next to independents such as The Unicorn Store and PlayLab Beauty. Brick storefronts and cobblestone alleys give the block its look.
Cool Fam Fest is one of several events One Colorado has scheduled in the coming weeks. Others include a salsa dancing night, a courtyard fitness series run with the brands BÜNDA and Alo, a live music series called Sunset Sessions, a wellness series and a fall rodeo event billed as Boots, Bites, and Western Beats.
One Colorado combines historic buildings with shops and outdoor dining, and many of its courtyard events are free and open to the public year-round. The district encourages visitors to the market to shop and eat at its stores and restaurants the same day.
