The Los Angeles College of Music will host a free, all-day music industry workshop on Saturday, May 17, connecting aspiring musicians with professionals who have shaped today’s biggest sounds. “In Tune: The Art of Musical Excellence” will provide hands-on training, mock auditions, and direct access to musicians who have collaborated with major artists in pop, R&B, soul, gospel, and jazz.

The workshop runs from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the LACM campus located at 300 S. Fair Oaks Avenue, in Pasadena.

Though admission is free, donations will be accepted, and pre-registration is required through www.bleedingexcellence.com/in-tune due to limited available spots.

Timothy Bailey Jr., a world-class bassist, musical director, and LACM graduate who has worked with Ariana Grande, Tyrese, and Frank Ocean, will lead the workshop. Bailey brings extensive industry experience, having performed on The Ellen Degeneres Show, The Tonight Show, SNL, and major music awards shows. As a session musician, he has supported chart-topping records by Frank Ocean, Jordin Sparks, Big Sean, Gerald Albright, and others.

An impressive lineup of industry professionals will join Bailey, including Gorden Campbell (Earth Wind & Fire), Troy Laureta (Ariana Grande), Wayne Linsey (Stevie Wonder), Jon Decuir (Andra Day), Marcus Hodge (Jordin Sparks), Samir Moulay (Eric Benet), Sara Williams (Ledisi), and Brandon “Pastor Funk” Brown (The Jacksons).

Participants will receive real industry advice, participate in mock auditions with live feedback, and learn directly from musicians who have worked with top artists. Whether you’re a vocalist, instrumentalist, student, or emerging artist, this workshop offers an exclusive backstage pass to the industry.

Since its founding in 1996, LACM has established itself as a destination for music students worldwide seeking professional training in the heart of the music industry. The college offers undergraduate and graduate programs across 12 majors in Music Performance, Production, Composition, and Industry studies. Small class sizes and private study with current, leading musical professionals foster an intimate and supportive environment to learn to create, record, perform and market in today’s competitive music industry.

LACM has expanded its programming to ages 12+ through its Summer at LACM program and recently introduced the Bridge to Success English as a second language program. This innovative program allows students to attend college one term early and develop academic English skills through music coursework and cultural immersion.

The workshop is presented by Bleeding Excellence Productions and LACM. Those interested in attending can register at www.bleedingexcellence.com/in-tune or direct questions to intune@bleedingexcellence.com.
