The volunteer rescuers who helped evacuate Altadena residents during January’s devastating Eaton Fire will benefit from a free community pancake breakfast next month, as the Altadena Rotary Club hosts its semi-annual fundraiser.

The breakfast will take place Saturday, October 4, from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Grocery Outlet parking lot in Altadena, with proceeds supporting the Altadena Mountain Rescue Team and other local organizations.

“Come by Saturday, October 4 from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the @altadena_groceryoutlet parking lot in Altadena and support the @altadenamountainrescue. Thank you to @altadenarotary for your hard work and dedication,” the Altadena Sheriff’s Station said.

The timing carries special meaning for the community. The all-volunteer team operates 24/7 year-round, conducting around 100 search-and-rescue missions annually across 20 canyons, but gained renewed appreciation after responding to evacuation efforts during the January Eaton Fire.

Beyond their fire response, the team recently conducted a fundraising campaign for a new rescue truck.

“Please join @altadenarotary at Grocery Outlet on Lake Avenue in Altadena from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Oct. 4 for our semi-annual pancake breakfast to benefit our community,” the Altadena Rotary Club posted on Instagram.

Free tickets are available at the Sheriff’s Station, El Patron Restaurant, Grocery Outlet, or online at altadenarotary.org. The Sheriff’s Station can be reached at (626) 798-1131.

Semi-Annual Pancake Breakfast will run on Saturday, Oct. 4 at 8:00–10:30 a.m. Altadena Grocery Outlet, 2270 Lake Ave., Altadena.
